Variable Element Load

This load type allows for defining a function (program variable) for describing  variable loadings on a series of elements.

Note: For detailed load explanation see also RM Bridge Load Types Library .

Using a cover function allows for assigning different loading functions to different elements  of the series. An ordinal number referring to the position in the element series (the internal  Variable IQVAR) is used for governing the assignment of the different loading functions.

SettingDescription
From, To, Step Element series to be loaded
Assembly Alternative to load assignment via element series: Name of the assembly to be loaded. The specified load is applied to every element of the specified assembly.
DX, DY, DZ Load direction vector. The entered vector is internally normalized to a length of 1; specifying a vector with other length does not influence the loading intensity.

Default: no default, direction must be prescribed

Global / Local Selection of the related direction system (global or local)
I-Var1, I-Var2 Parameter for calculating the internal variable IQVAR to be used for evaluating any cover  function for assigning different tables to different elements Formula for calculating IQVAR:

IQVAR = I-Var1 + (n-1) · I-Var2

with n as consecutive ordinal number of the given element series.

SettingDescription
I-Var1 = I-Var2 = 0 Direct assignment of the loading function without cover function
Ndiv Number of subdivisions of the loading function
Table Name of the loading table (function), which has been defined as variable.
Real length / Projection Load intensities related to the real (clear) element lengths      or  to the length of the projection normal to the load direction
Element-normalised length Abscissa value of the loading function is X/L (relative distance from the element begin)
Element-length Abscissa value of the loading function is the distance from the element begin
Element-global X-axis Abscissa value of the loading function is the global X coordinate
Element-global Y-axis Abscissa value of the loading function is the global Y coordinate
Element-global Z-axis Abscissa value of the loading function is the global Z coordinate
